In Monster, Steve is sad and missing his parents. I experienced this when I was at a camp in Tennessee for 1 month. Sure, I was having fun and making new friends, but after 3 weeks, I really started to miss my parents. That and home cooking. i love home cooking. (Brody)
Generally camp food isn't all that great! Three weeks is a long time. I was always that kid who was crying at the end of the week 'cause I had so much fun at camp and didn't want to go home, but my camp was only one week. I worked at a couple different camps during high school and college. It was a blast being there all summer long. Staff became sort of a family.
